Today, Lisa carries forward the legacy of her father, Don Williamson, and the DW Design tradition of residential design excellence, through kitchen design that elevates how homes are experienced.
Founded in 1974 by Don Williamson, DW Design was built on exceptional artistic talent. After a significant advertising art career and serving as Executive Art Director at the Kansas City Star, Don established the business with a focus on architectural illustration and visual storytelling. By translating construction drawings into detailed floor plans and illustrations, his work enabled builders, developers, and realtors to visualize and advertise homes.
DW Design quickly became a trusted and in-demand name in the homebuilding market. Known for his distinctive drawing style, masterful use of color and reputation as the best in the industry, Don became the longtime exclusive artist for the Home Builders Association of Greater Kansas City. His work shaped how homes were presented and how buyers envisioned living in them. Working alongside her father, his team, and family members, Lisa drew floor plans and illustrated homes, gaining early exposure to residential design, and inspiring a career in interior design.
